The shock absorber 1 formed of a foamed thermoplastic resin has: a flat plate-like body part 2; and a plurality of mutually and substantially parallel main ribs 10, 20, 30 respectively protruded in the first direction z vertical to the body part 2 and extending in the second direction y in parallel with the body part 2, The respective main ribs 10, 20, 30 has: first side surfaces 11, 21, 31; and second side surfaces 12, 22, 32 on the opposite side of the first side surfaces 11, 21, 31. In cross section vertical to the second direction y, an angle made by at least parts 12a, 22a, 32a of the second side surfaces 12, 22, 32 on the base end side of the main ribs 10, 20, 30 relative to the first direction z is larger than an angle made by the first side surfaces 11, 21, 31 relative to the first direction z. The main ribs 10, 20, 30 adjacent to each other are arranged to prevent the respective first side surfaces 11, 21, 31 from being faced with each other.
