PURPOSE: To surely and stably bear a spring by applying a simple and inexpensive composition of spring receiving member without using a conventional expensive flanged spring receiving member.
CONSTITUTION: This shock absorber is equipped with locking projections 3 projected around a cylinder 1, washer 7 in the shape of ring plate supporting one end of a spring, constituting the first spring receiving member 5 on cylinder side and the second spring receiving member 6, a tubular cover 8 attached to the washer 7, and a tubular cam member 9 being made within the tubular cover 8 and having a cam face 9b abutted slidably against the locking projections 3 at one end face and having such inside diameter dimension that it can be set around the cylinder 1. And, the projections projected at one end each of the tubular cam member 9 and the tubular cover 8 are set in the notches made at the inside periphery of the washer 7.
