To provide a shock absorbing body for a vehicle, exerting a stable shock-absorbing performance by deformation of a shock absorbing body being crushed by preventing the strength against load of part reduced in thickness in blow molding from being lowered.
The shock absorbing body 1 has a hollow structure formed integrally by blow molding, and includes a body having a hollow portion, and a plurality of pairs of recessed ribs 6 and 7. Each pair of recessed ribs 6 and 7 has a fist wall 4 and a second wall 5, respectively, which are opposed to each other, and front ends of the walls formed by being recessed toward the other are joined with the corresponding recess on the opposing wall. In a portion of corner portions 12 and/or edge portions 14 of the wall face constituting the shock absorbing body 1, recessed notch portions 13 and 15 are formed along the contour of the corner portions 12 and the edge portions 14. The recessed notch portions 13 and 15 formed along the contour of the corner portions 12 and the edge portions 14 are formed to be notched toward the hollow portion.
