Abstract:
PURPOSE: To surely insert a sheet into a nip section between the conveying roller of a recording device and a small-diameter pinch roller kept in pressure contact with it.
CONSTITUTION: When a recording sheet P to be recorded is fed to a conveying roller 36, the recording sheet P is inserted and conveyed into a nip section between the conveying roller 36 and a pinch roller 37 kept in pressure contact with it. When the recording sheet P is inserted into the nip section, the tip section of the recording sheet P is brought into contact with the conveying roller 36 by a projection 39d and guided to the nip section. The defective biting, insufficient head projection, and deficient registration of the pinch roller 37 can be prevented even when the small-diameter pinch roller 37 is used. A thick sheet such as an envelope can be surely conveyed like the normal sheet.
