To provide a footwear upper construction to which a sole is to be attached.
A footwear upper construction has a peripheral edge, having an inner surface and an outer surface. A heat activatable adhesive impregnated substrate strip stitched to the outer surface of the peripheral edge whereby when the adhesive is activated a sole can be bonded thereto.
