Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harvester for root vegetables capable of efficiently conducting the sequential treatments ranging from an extraction of the vegetables from the field to the highly accurate foliage-cutting treatment.
SOLUTION: This harvester comprises: a soil-breaking member 4 for breaking a soil near root vegetables W in a field; a foliage portion-lifting device 15 for lifting the foliage portions Wb of the vegetables W by engagement tines 16; a holding and lifting conveyor 1 for holding and lifting the lifted foliage portions Wb and backwardly and upwardly conveying them in the hanging form; a position adjuster 8a for adjusting the heights of the vegetable main bodies Wa during the backward movement of the bulbous vegetables W by introducing the foliage portions Wb between lifting position regulator guides 8ac in the light-and-left sides; a foliage portion holding conveyor 8b for conveying the foliage portions Wb via holding its upper position than the position adjuster 8a; and a cutter 8d for cutting the foliage portions Wb held by the foliage portion holding conveyor 8b.
