Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the watertightness of a shoe, by cutting a lower edge of a surface material and a lower edge of functional layer uppers in different lengths, and extending them, not stitching the lower edge of the functional layer uppers, composing an insole material by a liquid permeable synthetic matter, and making the lower edge of the functional layer uppers buried into the synthetic matter. CONSTITUTION: A lower edge 27 of functional layer uppers is cut into length shorter than that of a lower edge 19 of surface material uppers. The functional layer uppers 15 are watertight and formed through laminating a functional layer having a water vapor permeability, onto which a reinforcing fiber material is provided at the outside toward the surface material uppers 13, and further onto which a fiber layer lining is provided at the inside toward a mold 25. The lower edge 27 of the functional layer uppers is not stitched together at a seam 21 between an insole 17 and the lower edge 19 of the surface material uppers. In manufacturing the shoe, the lower edge 27 of the functional layer uppers is fixed to an adhesive band 31 at a predetermined distance from the end of the lower edge of the functional layer uppers. Further, the laminated body of the functional layer is constituted of a micro-cellular polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE).
