Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pick-up device which can detect a photographer's intended subject with a simple configuration, and can display or expose the subject with proper exposure, and to provide an image pick-up method.SOLUTION: An image pick-up device includes an image pick-up section 2 outputting image data, a camera-shake detecting section 1c for detecting movement of the image pick-up device before image pick-up operation, a photometry range determining section 1b for determining a photometry range based on the detection results from the camera-shake detecting section 1c before image pick-up operation, and a display section 8 for displaying a subject image based on the image data in a photometry range determined by the photometry range determining section 1b. The photometry range determining section 1b determines partial photometry when movement while holding the image pick-up device at the ready is detected before image pick-up operation.
