PURPOSE: To suppress wear in the power supply and to select and receive a frequency whose reception level is largest in average among plural frequencies by applying intermittent reception at a prescribed period.
CONSTITUTION: When a power supply 9 is energized through a power key 13, its output is fed to a reception section 14 to cause the operating state. Then a prescribed frequency switching signal is supplied to a local oscillation circuit 6 to allow a control section 10 to read a reception signal incoming from an antenna 1 and the signal is stored in a 1st memory group 11. When the control section 10 receives all frequencies, the frequency with the largest signal level is selected among memory areas of the memory group 11 and inputted to a 2nd memory group 12. That is, an ON command comes from the key 13 and the memory group 12 does not store the frequency for N times or over, the selective reception by the discrimination of a momentary signal level is applied. On the other hand, when the memory group 12 stores the frequency for N times or over, the selective reception by the discrimination of an average signal level is applied.
