To provide a shorts-type disposable diaper which has a waist part snugly fit to a wearer different in body shape, is excellent in wearing comfort, excellent in leakage protection effect, is a good-looking product, and is given an impression of high quality.

The shorts-type disposable diaper is characterized in that a flexible elastic member around the waist comprises: continuous flexible elastic members which are continuously placed in an expanded state over the whole length in the width direction; and discontinuous flexible elastic members which are placed in an expanded state in the diaper width direction in areas on both edge sides which are symmetrical across a central area in the diaper width direction where no flexible elastic members is present, and that at least one discontinuous flexible elastic member is placed between adjacent continuous flexible elastic members.
