Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of a trouble wherein subsequent processing is needed as a result of shot peening processing being applied on the part, where processing is not on the part, where processing is needed, of the gear when shot peening processing is applied on the gear.
CONSTITUTION: After a small shot grain injection nozzle wherein only the deddendum of a gear 1 forms a shot peening irradiation range (α) is reciprocated along one of tooth grooves of the gear 1 in synchronism with rotation of the gear 1, the nozzle is reciprocated toward a subsequent tooth groove to be processed. Only during the reciprocation, shot grains are fed to the nozzle and the shot grains are injected to the deddendum par 1 through the nozzle. This constitution applies shot to the deddendum part and prevents the occurrence of wherein shot peening processing is applied on the part, where processing is not needed, of the gear 1.
