Title:
SHOT PEENING SHOT AND RECOVERY METHOD OF SHOT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07237125
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the recovery efficiency of shots by using as a shot for shot peening which is for giving residual compression stress to the surface of a material, a thing that has a specific grain diameter and is a magnetic body and is formed into an approximate spherical shape and is given with magnetism.

CONSTITUTION: A shot peening shot is an object whose grain diameter is 0.3-1.2mm and which is a magnetic body and is formed into an approximate spherical shape and is given with magnetism, and is recovered by means of a brush jig having an electromagnetic magnet function. Also, the scattering of shots is restrained by providing an electromagnetic magnet at the bottom portion of a place where shots are scattered at the time of shot peening work. A shot such as above is manufactured into an approximate sherical shape by annealing ferrite stainless steel of a stick shape whose diameter is preferably 1.00mm, under the air condition of about 675-760°C and by conducting jetting against the wall of the same material by means of compressed air after having been cut off minutely into the ones whose lengths are about 1mm.
