Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire, satisfactory in warmth keeping properties, capable of giving a light distribution characteristic with high uniformity, and increasing the amount of storage in a case by housing a fluorescent lamp having a glass tube bulb with a thinned outer diameter in a protection cover with directional light distribution, and a showcase mounted with the same luminaire. SOLUTION: Luminaires LL, LC, LR are each equipped with a tubular transparent cover member 5, a plurality of prism lenses 6 longitudinally formed on a surface of the transparent cover member 5, a fluorescent lamp 7, having a phosphor-coated glass tube bulb with a tube outer diameter of 23 mm or less filled with a discharge medium are provided with discharge electrodes, and housed in the transparent cover member 5 with a gap b of 10 mm or less left by its inner wall surface, and closure members 54, 54 for closing both end parts of the transparent cover member 5. These luminaires LL, LC, LR are disposed in a showcase 1.
