To provide a showcase excellent in energy saving, allowing when arranging a tall compressor, to arrange in a machine room below an adiabatic wall in a showcase body, and free from reducing the height of a commodity storage so as not to reduce stored commodities.
A showcase is formed by dividing the inside of a showcase body 1 having an opening 2 for taking in and out a commodity on the front face and formed by a cross section nearly U-shaped adiabatic wall 1a into a commodity storage 4 and a cold air circulation duct 5 by a duct plate 3, arranging a cooler 9 in the cold air circulation duct 5, forming the bottom edge of the cold air circulation duct 5 as an air inlet port 6, and the top edge thereof as a cold air outlet 7, forming a cold air curtain on the opening 2 by cold air blown out from the outlet 7 to cool the commodity storage 4 and prevent outside air from invading into the storage. In a machine room 13 formed on the lower part of the adiabatic wall 1a, the bottom of the adiabatic wall 1a is raised so as to raise part of a showcase body back side where there is the cold air circulation duct 5, and a tall compressor 14 is installed thereon.
