To provide a shredding apparatus capable of varying a rotation speed of a fan, if necessary, while suppressing increase of a cost.
Two-speed control of the fan 23 such as usual rotation (full speed operation, continuous operation, high speed rotation) and low speed rotation (intermittent operation) is performed by CPU. Namely, action of the usual rotation is realized by continuous ON of the fan 23 and action of the low speed rotation is realized by intermittent pulse output of ON from CPU. The action of the low speed rotation repeats ON and OFF, for example, in every 100 ms. An air amount can be reduced, for example, by decreasing the rotation speed from 3,800 rpm to approximately 2,000 rpm. Thereby, reduction of noise, suppression of power consumption and prevention of raising of an internal temperature can be realized.
