The shutter device includes: a front curtain holding means for holding movement of a second engagement portion 190Q in a restricting position at least when a charge member 190R performs return actuation to an initial position of the charge member 190R, and for releasing a holding force when a front curtain is actuated by the biasing force of a second spring 190F. Prior to the shielding operation of an exposure aperture portion 190D of the front curtain resulting from the release of the holding force by the front curtain holding means, charges are reset from the lowermost line of a CMOS image sensor and then exposure is performed.
