To provide a shutter opening and closing device improving sensitivity of obstacle detection and contributing to improvement of reliability.
The shutter opening and closing device is provided with: a DC motor 11 winding up and down a shutter 1; and a control device 12 controlling the rotation speed thereof to obtain a target rotation speed. The shutter opening and closing device is also provided with: a position detecting means 31 detecting the opening and closing position of the shutter; an electric current value detecting means 36 detecting the electric current value of the DC motor; a storing means 26 storing a sectional reference electric current value of each of sections, which are predetermined by dividing the opening and closing position of the shutter, upon winding up and down of the shutter; and an obstacle detecting means 25 detecting the obstacle upon winding up the shutter, based on comparison between the detected electric current value and the sectional reference electric current value of the section, upon winding up the shutter, corresponding to the present opening and closing position of the shutter, and detecting the obstacle upon winding down the shutter, based on comparison between the detected electric current value and the sectional reference electric current value of the section, upon winding down the shutter, corresponding to the present opening and closing position of the shutter.
