To provide a shutter device that prevents adhesion of foreign matter to the attraction face of an armature and yoke without adding another member.
The shutter device comprises: a drive lever 502 configured to drive a blade lever 503 in the direction in which blade groups 509 and 510 close an aperture; a drive spring 511 configured to energize the drive lever 502 in the direction in which the blade lever 503 is driven; and the yoke 533 configured to magnetically attract and hold the armature 513. The blade lever 503 is driven by releasing the attraction of the armature 513 and yoke 533, thereby rotating the drive lever 502 by the energized force of the drive spring 511. While incorporated in a camera body, the attraction face of the yoke 533 and armature 513 extends in perpendicular to the bottom of the camera body, and is arranged on the bottom side of the camera body rather than on the rotation shaft side of the drive lever. After the attraction of the armature 513 and yoke 533 is cancelled, the drive lever 502 is rotated toward the top face side of the camera body from the bottom face side thereof.
