To provide a side body structure of a vehicle in which a large survival space is secured by suppressing the amount of ingress to the vehicle cabin side of a center pillar with a lightweight and simple structure.
A side body structure of a vehicle includes: a side sill having a side sill outer member 21 and a side sill inner member, in which a cross-sectional shape is formed in a hat shape and extended in the vehicle fore-and-aft direction; and a center pillar having a center pillar outer member with a lower end connected to an outer side surface part 21g of the side sill outer member 21 and extended to the upper side in the vertical direction of the vehicle. An equation U1/(U1+U2) is set in a range of 0.56 or more and 0.82 or less, where U1 is a length in the width direction of a first upper surface part 21e of the side sill outer member 21 and U2 is a length in the width direction of a second upper surface part 21c. An equation L1/(L1+L2) is set in a range of 0.16 or more and 0.82 or less, where L1 is a length in the width direction of a first lower surface part 21j and L2 is a length in the width direction of a second lower surface part 21m.
