Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to avert the light leakage at an exit surface and to efficiently emit illumination light by forming the hemming part of a frame of a nearly black resin material and forming the side plate of a nearly white resin material. SOLUTION: The frame 21 is integrally formed with a hemming part 21A which hems the exit surface of a side light type surface light source device 20, a side plate 21B which rises from the hemming part 21A and encloses the front end side and flanks of a light transmission plate 2 together with a light diffusion sheet 5, prism sheets 6, 7, etc., and a light source holding part 21C which extends and rises from the hemming part 21A and encloses a primary light source 5 from the exit surface side and circumference. The hemming part 21A of the frame 21 is molded by the black resin. The side plate 21B and the light source holding part 21C are molded by the white resin. The illumination light L2 made incident on the hemming part 21A is mostly absorbed by the hemming part 21A. The illumination light leaking out of the flanks is efficiently reflected by the side plate 21B and is returned to the inside of the light transmission plate 2.
