The side mirror evading device 15 for the car wash 10 has a detecting device 20 for detecting the side brush 14 coming close to the side mirror 3 during travelling of an arch-type travelling frame 12, and a control device 30 for separating the side brush from a side surface of the vehicle 1 over a certain range along the travelling direction of the vehicle 1 on the basis of a result of the detection by the detecting device 20. The detecting device 20 detects a rising part 2A of a front glass surface 2 of the vehicle 1, and the control device 30 separates the side brush 14 from the side surface of the vehicle 1 over a certain range along the travelling direction of the vehicle by considering the rising part 2A of the front glass surface 2 as a reference position.
