To provide a side thruster which considerably shortens the time for preparing design drawings and shortens the working time for building a ship, and a ship having the side thruster.
The side thruster 3 comprises a port side opening part 5 formed in a port side shell plate 4 of a hull, a starboard side opening part 7 formed in a starboard side shell plate 6 of the hull, a thruster tunnel 8 to communicate the port side opening part 5 with the starboard side opening part 7, and a thruster body disposed in the thruster tunnel 8. A port side thruster wall surface 9 having the port side opening part and an inner wall 8a of the thruster tunnel 8 continuous to each other, and a starboard side thruster wall surface 10 having the starboard side opening part 7 and the inner wall 8a of the thruster tunnel 8 continuous to each other are provided to form a part of a side surface shape of a conical body.
