PURPOSE: To cancel the phase difference between an original signal and a delay line output signal and to perform complete color separation easily, by sample holding the original signal with the same pulse as an input/output section driving pulse of a 1H CCD delay line.

CONSTITUTION: An original signal output from a solid-state image pickup element 7 is outputted to a terminal 49 with a delay of 1H at a 1H CCD delay line 38 via a capacitor 90. On the other hand, the original signal is sample-held at a sample hold circuit 39. In this case, an input/output driving pulse applied to the delay line 38 via a terminal 43 is used for the driving gate pulse. Thus, the sample holding original signal is accurately made coincident with the 1H delay signal in phase. The sample holding original signal and the 1H delay signal outputted from the delay line 38 and level-corrected with a DC level correction circuit 40 are clamped respectively at clamping circuits 41 and 42. The original signal clamped at the circuits 41 and 42 is separated into each color signal to be a TV signal. Thus, the color separation is made easy.
