PURPOSE: To reduce the deterioration in quality of a chrom signal, by applying a reproduced luminance signal and a reproduced chrominance signal obtained from a player at disc reproduction in a color TV receiver via a changeover switch without modulating processing directly.
CONSTITUTION: Changeover switches 37, 38 in a TV receiver 42 at disc reproduction are automatically switched with a control signal obtained from a system control circuit 22. The recorded video signal is detected at a pickup device 1 and amplified at a preamplifier 2, and applied to a tracking servo circuit 17 and an FM demodulation circuit 3. The FM-modulated video signal is processed at a luminance signal/chrominance signal separation circuit 4 and applied to a luminance signal processing circuit 31 via the changeover switch 37 in the TV receiver. Further, the chrominance signal is frequency-converted at a frequency converter 9 with a carrier from a VCOX14. In the PAL/SECAM system, the signal is demodulated into R-Y and B-Y signals at a decode circuit 18 and applied to a chrominance signal matrix circuit 36 via the switch 38 via terminals 26 and 27.
