Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a signal recording and reproducing device which is easy to obtain recording information of an arbitrary unit recorded in a recording medium.
CONSTITUTION: A bit stream is inputted to a transmission packet ID detector 1 from an input terminal 20 as an input signal. when transmission signal kind information outputted from a transmission signal discriminator 13 is inputted to the transmission packet ID detector 1, the transmission packet ID detector 1 detects packet ID. Transmission packets stored in a transmission packet buffer 2 are inputted to a recording packet device 10 as a recording packet for each packet of fixed length, and a signal indicating that, from which transmission packet the recording packet is generated is inputted to a recording information multiplexer 17 as a recording packet and packet exchanging information. A signal indicating the number of bytes of the transmission packet is inputted to the recording information multiplexer 17 from the transmission signal discriminator 13 as transmission packet byte information.
