PURPOSE: To switch a VTR, a telecine camera, etc. by means of one signal line, by encoding a control signal for selecting a switching circuit, together with a control signal for remote control.
CONSTITUTION: A remote control signal of the apparatuses 51, 52, 53 such as a VTR, a telecine camera, etc. is input to the encoder 12 from the operation panel 13. Also, a control signal for selecting switching circuits 31, 32, 33 of the apparatuses 51, 52, 53 is input to the encoder 12 from the control panel 11. The encoder 12 encodes these control signals and sends them as serial data to the switching circuits 31, 32, 33 through one signal line 14. The serial data-parallel data converting circuit 21 converts the serial data which have been transmitted, to parallel data, and controls the switching circuits 31, 32, 33 through the decoder 22. The main line signals which have passed through the switching circuits are decoded by the decoding circuits 41, 42, 43 of the respective apparatuses. In this way, both remote control and switching can be executed by one signal line.
