PURPOSE: To obtain a miniature and simple signal transmission device by carry ing out multiplexing transmission by way of a converter for converting a plural ity of output signals from detectors into frequencies which are different from each other among respective components.
CONSTITUTION: A force sensor output signal 22 is delivered from a force sensor 21 in a detecting device 2 to a V/F converter 23 which converts the signal 22 into frequencies that are different from each other among respective components and then that are transmitted to a multiplexing circuit 24 which then converts the frequencies into a multiplexed signal that is then converted into a photo-signal. Thus, the multiplexed photo-signal is transmitted through an optic fiber cable 2 to an O/E converter 41 which converts the photo-signal into a multiplexed electrical signal whose components are distributed to an F/V converter 43 by means of a distributing circuit 42. Force sensor output signals from the respective components are converted into voltage values by means of the F/V converter 43, and are delivered to a controller 44 for control ling a drive section which operates actuators or the like. Accordingly, a plurality of signals can be transmitted, being electrically isolated from each other through one optic fiber cable.
