Title:
SIGNAL TRANSMITTING MECHANISM OF STEERING WHEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59153107
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To transmit a signal positively and to prevent the erroneous operation of various devices such as a klaxon, by providing two or more engaging members, which link a pad to a column so that the column cannot be rotated, making each engaging member to move so as not to obstruct the rotation of a spoke, and transmitting the signal through the engaging members.

CONSTITUTION: When a spoke 7 is not located in the vicinity of two engaging rods 16 and 17, two following projections 18 and 19 are positioned at the intermediate parts between both ends of the front and rear parts of a cam groove 11. A pad 12 is not rotated with respect to a column 1. At this time, the open ends of optical fiber cables are contacted in engaging holes 14 and 15 on the side of the pad so that optical communication can be performed. When the spoke 7 approaches one engaging rod 17, the following projection 19 of the engaging rod 17 is driven to the side of the column by the cam groove 11. The open ends 133a and 135a of the optical cables are separated. Since the spoke 7 is present during the period, the optical communication cannot be performed. The open ends 132a and 134a of the other optical cable are connected in the engaging hole 14 on the side of the pad, so that the optical communication can be performed. Therefore the signal is transmitted.
