Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the subject good quality silage capable of being stably commercially supplied and useful for dairy farming, etc., by subjecting dry pasture grasses moistened into a water content of ≥ a prescribed value to a lactic acid fermentation.
CONSTITUTION: Dry pasture grasses such as sugar cane top, sudan grass, alfalfa, oats, timothy, rice straws or other straws moistened into a water content of ≥55wt.% is mixed with lactic acid bacteria and/or an enzyme, and subsequently subjected to a lactic acid fermentation to provide the objective silage.
