Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide silage obtained by fermenting the residue of potatoes with a fungus having high lactic acid-producing ability and to provide a method for preparing the silage.
SOLUTION: Lactic acid fermentation of the residue after extracting starch from potatoes is carried out by the fungus having high lactic acid-producing ability and, further, the fermented product is anaerobically stored for a definite period in a hermetically sealed container or fermentation by the fungus and storage are carried out under microaerophilic conditions to prepare the silage having all of good quality, storage stability and palatability of feed.
