Title:
SILENCER FOR WEAPONS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2708721
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To damp the generation of noise drastically with a simple construction having a tank vessel which may be made up of at least two modules with a separate damper insert on which the sound-absorbing material is arranged.
CONSTITUTION: A first partial tank 6 is so positioned that it surrounds the edge part 3 of a weapon barrel 4. The propellant gas at the firing ejected sideways from the muzzle of a barrel expands in the first partial tank 6 and the energy of the sideway blast region generated by the overlap of an explosion gas and shock wave is absorbed enough by absorbers 9 and 10 arranged to the partial tank 6. Front blast region 24 of high energy generated by the collision of the explosion gas after the firing with the shock wave expands mainly to a second or a third partial tanks 7 and 8 different from those of side way blast region and the energy of this gas is absorbed by the absorbers 11 and 14 in the second and the third partial tanks 7 and 8.
