Abstract:
A silencing device according to the present invention comprises: a gas supply source that supplies a gas that is different from an exhaust gas emitted by an internal combustion engine; a pipe that is connected to the gas supply source and an exhaust pipe through which the exhaust gas flows, and that forms a flow path for the gas supplied from the gas supply source to the exhaust pipe; and a rotating valve that is disposed inside the pipe, has a rotating shaft that is perpendicular to a flow direction of the gas, and opens and closes the flow path of the pipe. By virtue of this configuration, soundwaves of a desired frequency can be output from the gas supply source to the exhaust pipe via the pipe in accordance with the rotational frequency (rotational speed) of the rotating valve by causing the rotating valve to rotate inside the pipe and switch between an open state and closed state of the gas flow path.
