Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve strength by reducing the width of a silent chain assembly, decreasing the width of a phased chain assembly, and using a larger number of inner links in the chain with the same width.
SOLUTION: In phased chains 24, 26 formed by pivotally connecting plural sets of links by pins 46, there are provided a pair of toothed inner links 44, 42, innermost guide links 28, 30, and outer links 48, 50, and the pins 46 are kept from projecting over the edges of the innermost guide links 28, 30.
