To provide a hook-and-loop fastener made of fiber, having a function of absorbing and damping vibration in its base material, uniformly achieving engagement of the hook-and-loop fastener on the whole engagement surface to ensure a required engagement strength, not particularly limiting a fitting method for an object to be fitted, and effectively restraining the generation of abnormal sound in separation, and various produces with the hook-and-loop fastener.
In this hook-and-loop fastener, the apparent specific gravities of the base materials 11, 11 of the respective fiber-made hook-and-loop fastener members 10, 10 as joining counterparts are 0.5 g/cm3 or less, and the base material 11 of at least one hook-and-loop fastener member 10 has substantially uniform fiber density over the whole surface. As a result, the vibration of the base material 11 generated in separation is damped and absorbed by the base material itself, whereby the magnitude of sound discharged in the air can be effectively restrained and the form of the joining part in joining the hook-and- loop fastener members to each other can be stabilized.
