Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silica gel as a filter medium excellent in filtration perfor mance such as filtration rate and strength improved more than the conventional products while absorption performance is excellent but comparable to that of the conventional products, and capable of specifically eliminating those pro tein components alone which are unnecessary for a product, but remaining protein components necessary for the product.
SOLUTION: This silica gel for filter medium has 50-500&angst of fine pore diameter, 0.7-2.5ml/g of fine pore volume and 0.2-0.8ml/g of the volume of the fine pore exceeding 500&angst of fine pore diameter. The Darcy factor expressing the filtration property is preferably 0.5-2 and the protein adsorption factor expressing protein adsorption property is preferably 26-35. The shape is preferably spherical and the particle diameter is preferably 1-100μm. The silica gel is the most suitable one as a filter medium for brewing alcohol.
