To provide silica particles which are not easily embedded in an adhering object in comparison to the case in which the average particle diameter of primary particles is not in a range of 100 to 500 nm, the particle size distribution index of the primary particles is not in a range of 1.40 to 1.80, and the average circularity of the primary particles is not in a range of 0.5 to 0.85, and 95% or more, by number of particles, of the primary particles having an average particle diameter in a range of 100 to 500 nm, a particle size distribution index in a range of 1.40 to 1.80, and an average circularity in a range of 0.5 to 0.85 do not satisfy formula (1) with respect to the circularity and particle diameter (nm).
In the silica particles, 95% or more, by number of particles, of the primary particles having an average particle diameter in a range of 100 to 500 nm, a particle size distribution index in a range of 1.40 to 1.80, and an average circularity in a range of 0.5 to 0.85 satisfy the formula (1) with respect to the circularity and particle diameter (nm): circularity=α×particle diameter/1,000+β (1) (-2.5≤α≤-0.9, 0.8≤β≤1.2).
