Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compound having high systemic translocation, germicidal activity for agriculture and horticulture and antifungal activity for medical use and useful as a germicide.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I [A is 1,2,4-triazol-1-yl or imidazol-1-yl; n is 0-3; X is halogen, phenyl (substituted)1-6C alkoxy; R1 is 1-4C alkyl or (halogen-substituted)phenyl; R2 and R3 are 1-4C alkyl], e.g. 2-phenyl-1-(1H-1,2,4- triazol-1-yl)-3-trimethylsilyl-2-propanol. The compound of formula I is obtained by adding a silyl compound of formula III (M is lithium) to a ketone of formula II to produce an adduct of formula IV and then treating the adduct with a weak acid.
