Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition giving improved hair conditioning and hair style holdability by compounding a silicone gum having a dispersed unsolubilized particulate matter therein. CONSTITUTION: This silicone hair spray composition comprises (A) from 0.05wt.% to 10.0wt.%, preferably 0.01wt.% to 5.0wt.%, of a non-rigid silicone gum (preferably polydimethyl siloxane gum) having a viscosity of from 100,000 centistoke to 300,000,000 centistoke, preferably 1,000,000 centistoke to 20,000,000 centistoke, wherein the gum has from 0.01wt.% to 8.0wt.% of dispersed unsolubilized particulate matter which will not interact with the silicone gum, (B) from 0.05wt.% to 5.0wt.% of a hydrophobically-modified clay, e.g. hydrophobically modified hectorite, acting as a precipitation-preventing/ coagulation-preventing agent for the component A, and (C) from 20wt.% to 95wt.% of a volatile carrier. The unsolubilized particulate matter includes octylacrylamide/acrylate/butylaminoethyl methacrylate copolymer and titanium dioxide, and has an average particle diameter of 0.1-15μm, especially 0.15-2.0μm.
