Abstract:

To provide a silicone hydrogel, even in a case of a silicone hydrogel obtained by curing a hydrophobic material such as polypropylene in a double-sided casting mold, having a surface with transparency and wettability without subjecting a polymerized lens-shaped material to post-processing for improving wettability on a surface thereof or including a high-molecular-weight hydrophilic polymer therein for enhancing wettability on the surface thereof.

A silicone hydrogel soft contact lens is obtained by curing, in a double-sided casting mold, a liquid mixture including at least one type or more of silicone monomer having at least one hydroxyl group or polyethylene glycol group, and glycerol mono(meth)acrylate in the molecular structure thereof. The silicone hydrogel soft contact lens has a wettable surface without subjecting a polymerized lens-shaped material to post-processing for improving wettability of a surface thereof.
