This silo type heating furnace has a heating furnace main body 305 having the silo shape and filled with powder and granular material inside, a heating gas introduction opening 318 formed at a lower half portion of the heating furnace main body, a heating gas discharge opening 320 formed on an upper half portion of the heating furnace main body, a ring-shaped block member 324 for closing a heating gas inflow passage horizontally connected from an opening portion 318a of the heating gas introduction opening formed on an outer peripheral wall of the heating furnace main body to an opening portion 318b formed on an inner peripheral wall of the heating furnace main body, and a pedestal block member 326 supporting the ring-shaped block member, and forming a heating gas alternative path connecting from an outer peripheral wall-side opening portion of the heating gas introduction opening to the inside of the heating furnace main body, at a lower portion of the ring-shaped block member.
