PURPOSE: To provide the brazing filler metal for joining a gold alloy and a platinum alloy.

CONSTITUTION: This silver brazing filler metal contains 15 to 90% silver(Ag), 3 to 83% copper(Cu), 2 to 10% germanium(Ge), and the balance consisting of at least one kind selected from ≤10% phosphorus (P), ≤8% zinc(Zn), ≤6% tin(Sn), ≤12% gallium(Ga), ≤9% indium (In), ≤7% cadmium(Cd), and ≤2% antimony(Sb). This brazing filler metal is used for forming jewellery combined with the gold alloy and the platinum alloy and has particularly the high joint strength at the boundary with the platinum alloy.
