Abstract:

To provide an antibacterial or antifungal agent excellent in both antibacterial and antifungal properties and having good durability and processability.

A silver cobalt complex is provided. The complex has a structure including 6 Ag atoms and 6 Co atoms as the metal ions, having thiocarboxylate ligands and amine ligands as the ligands, having 12 nucleus complex of (Ag-S-Ag-S-Ag-S)2in which a 6 nucleus unit of Ag-S-Ag-S-Ag-S is connected through carboxylate oxygen and each of S atoms binds with the Co atom through the carboxylate ligand. The complex has very low minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) of fungi and antifungal activity equal to or larger than that of the Ag ion.
