Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity and excellent in shelf stability.
SOLUTION: The silver halide color photographic sensitive material has on a support one or more yellow-coupler-containing blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, one or more magenta-coupler-containing green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, one or more cyan-coupler-containing red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers, and one or more non-photosensitive layers, and contains in one or more layers a compound selected from the following type (A) and the following group of compounds of types (1)-(4), and the following compound (B). Type A: a compound represented by X-Y, wherein X is a reducing group; Y is a releasable group; and a one-electron oxidized derivative produced by one electron oxidation of the reducing group represented by X releases Y accompanied with consecutive cleavage reaction of the X-Y bond and generates an X radical, whereby another electron can further be emitted therefrom. Group of compounds of the types (1)-(4): compounds whose one-electron oxidized derivative produced by one electron oxidation can emit one or more electrons according to a specified reaction mechanism. Compound (B): a compound having at least three heteroatoms and increasing the photographic sensitivity of a photosensitive material when incorporated into the material.
