PURPOSE: To enhance color development performance, spectral absorption characteristics, sharpness, color image fastness, and storage stability by incorporating a malondiamide type yellow dye-forming coupler and a compound to be allowed to release a bleach promoter by reaction with the oxidation product of a developing agent.

CONSTITUTION: The silver halide color photographic sensitive material provided with at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support contains a coupler represented by formulae I and II, and the compound to be allowed to release the bleach promoter by reaction with the oxidation product of the developing agent or its precursor. In the formulae I and II, each of X1 and X2 is alkyl, aryl, or a heterocyclic group; X3 is an organic group necessary to form an N-containing hetero ring together with >N-; Y is an aryl or heterocyclic group; and Z is a group to be released when this coupler of formula I or II reacts with the oxidation product of a developing agent.
