PURPOSE: To provide a photographic sensitive material having superior antistatic performance even after development and well preventing the sticking of dust by applying a coating soln. contg. a specified high molecular compd. having antistatic performance and by cross-linking the compd. to form at least one of the constituent layers of a sensitive material.

CONSTITUTION: A coating soln. contg. a high molecular compd. having repeating units represented by general formula I is applied and the compd. is cross-linked to form an antistatic layer. In the formula I, X is a cross-linkable group contg. an activated vinyl component and Z is a counter ion rendering equilibrium of electric charge, preferably a halogen ion, ClO4-, BF4-, PF6-, R8-CO2- or R8-SO3-. The compd. represented by the formula I has superior antistatic performance because of the presence of ammonium groups in the side chain. Since cross-linkable groups present in the side chain are cross-linked, the antistatic performance of the compd. does not deteriorate even after development, a fixing soln. is hardly contaminated and superior adhesive property is ensured.
