This photographic sensitive material contains a compound having ≥2 styryl bases combined through covalent bonds and represented by formula I: A1-L-A2 in which each of A1 and A2 has a styryl base structure; and L is a simple bond or a divalent bonding group; or formula I is selected from groups of formula II and the like, and in formula II, each of Z1 and Z2 is an atomic group necessary to form a 5- or 6-membered N-containing hetero ring; each of L1-L8 is a methine group; each of V1 and V2 is a univalent bonding group; each of l1 and l2 is 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4; each of p1 and p2 is 0 or 1; each of n1 and n2 is 0, 1, 2, or 3; each of R1 and R2 is an H atom or an alkyl group or the like; M1 is a charge balancing counter ion; m1 is a number of 0-10 necessary to neutraliz the molecular charge; and La is same as L in formula I.
