PURPOSE: To obtain a photosensitive material which forms the dye image stable to heat and light by incorporating at least one of the magenta color image forming coupler expressed by the specific formula and at least one compd. expressed by the prescribed formula.

CONSTITUTION: At least one magenta color image forming coupler expressed by the formula I and at least one compd. expressed by the formula II are incorporated into the photosensitive material. The coupler can be usually used in the range of 1×10-3mol, more preferably 1×10-2W8×10-1mol per 1mol silver halide. The magenta color image stabilizer which is used in combination with the coupler and is expressed by the formula II has not only the effect of preventing the color fading by the light of the magenta color image but also the effect of preventing the discoloration by the light. The color photographic material which has excellent color reproducibility and is remarkably improved in the fastness of the magenta color image to light is thus obtd.
