Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a silver oxide battery having flat discharge voltage, good economical efficiency, and good storage life by using silver oxide, Mn2O3, and metal oxide whose single electrode potential is between potentials of silver oxide and Mn2O3 as positive active material.
CONSTITUTION: Silver oxide, Mn2O3, and metal oxide whose single electrode potential is between potentials of silver oxide and Mn2O3 are used as active material of positive electrode 1. This metal oxide is selected from, for example, lead dioxide, manganese dioxide, or mercuric oxide. The adding amount of the metal oxide is limited to 10% or less of the total positive active material. Thereby, storage life of a battery is improved.
