Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a silver powder by which the silver powder having the average particle diameter D50of 0.1 to <1 μm and the maximum particle diameter Dmaxof ≤4 μm can be produced without using polyhydric phenol as a reducing agent, and to provide the silver powder.

In the method for producing a silver powder where a reducing agent is added to an aqueous reaction system containing silver ions so as to apply reduction precipitation to silver particles, one or more kinds selected from fatty acid, fatty acid salt and fatty acid ester are added to the aqueous reaction system before the addition of the reducing agent, and also, a chelating agent is added to the aqueous reaction system before the addition of the reducing agent.
