Abstract:
It is intended to provide a method of removing silver capable of collecting silver by effectively separating and removing silver even from a liquid containing silver ions at a relatively low concentration and of separating and removing silver in a short time, and a washing machine to which the method is applied. The method of removing silver is a method of decreasing the concentration of silver in a liquid containing silver ions by bringing a microorganism of Shewanella oneidensis or Shewanella algae into contact with the liquid. The washing machine (1) is capable of imparting silver ions to a fibrous structure and has a silver collecting unit (200) which is disposed such that it comes into contact with water to be used for washing and is capable of decreasing the concentration of silver in water containing silver ions by bringing a microorganism of Shewanella oneidensis or Shewanella algae into contact with the water.
